UCF Physics


All prerequisites with common course numbering (meaning from a Florida public school like Valencia College, Seminole State, etc.) will be handled by COSAS.

Example:  To get into PHY 2053 the math class MAC 1114 is a prerequisite.  It has not posted yet in your degree audit or you are taking this class as transient student at another institution like Valencia College.

COSAS hours:

  • Monday-Thursday 9am to 5pm
  • Friday 9am to 12pm

COSAS Location: CSB 250

Please be sure to have the following:

  • Your UCF Identification
  • Proof of enrollment for pre-requisites (if receiving pre-requisite error)
  • Section/Time of Lecture and Lab

Overrides will not be done for class limits. Both Lecture and Lab must be available and open for enrollment.

All other Overrides must be done in person in the new Physical Sciences building 121, room PSB 430, located between the Counseling Center, Biological Sciences and Harris Corp. Engineering buildings.

No e-mails or phone calls will be accepted. However, if you have questions prior to coming in person, please feel free to send an email to Physics@ucf.edu

Overrides in the Physical Sciences building are done Monday through Friday between the hours of 10a.m. through 11a.m. and 2p.m. through 3p.m.

If you are taking a pre-requisite in the summer or future semesters, bring proof of enrollment for future semesters!

NOTE: prerequisite credit approvals from out-of-state, international, and/or private schools will be done at the department.
