Welcome to the official SPS website!

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter at UCF was founded in 2011. Our SPS chapter is under the leadership of our President, Olivia Bitcon, and the supervision of faculty advisors, Dr. Costas Efthimiou and Dr. Adrienne Dove. The vision of SPS-UCF is to provide new opportunities for students, such as community outreach events and conferences, while also providing a friendly social space for all students, regardless of their knowledge level in physics. We are open to all students of any major, you do not need to be a physics major to join!

Every year, we apply for various SPS Chapter Awards to aid in funding our outreach events and an SPS Chapter Research Award to fund SPS research projects. Some of these SPS Chapter Awards are the Marsh W. White Award, awarded to fund outreach to grades K-12 and the general public, and the Future Faces of Physics Award, awarded to fund outreach designed to promote physics across cultures.

Our chapter meetings are held in PSB 160/161 at 6pm every other Wednesday. Our schedule can be found below.
